I have been donating to this shelter for a long time and we managed to visit this place once. That&#8217;s exactly what happened to Vendy, the founder of Jarikhanda. In 2015, her dream became a reality when she opened the doors to one of the first shelters for farm animals in the Czech Republic in <strong>B\u0159ez\u016fvky, near Zl\u00edn<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, Jarikhanda has become home to dozens of animals that would otherwise have ended up\u2026 well, don&#8217;t even think about it. <strong>Cows, horses, piglets, sheep, goats, chickens and even cats and dogs<\/strong> have all found a new home here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Life on the farm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Vendy explains their philosophy: &#8220;With us, everyone lives their life without being robbed. We leave the milk for the chicks and the eggs for the hens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walking around the farm we met many interesting inhabitants. For example, Hanz the pig, who originally lived in a flat on the fifth floor with no lift! His former owners thought that such a pet didn&#8217;t need to be walked. It is run primarily through the dedication of volunteers and the financial support of donors. Every donation makes a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jarikhanda uses a transparent accounting system that allows donors to see how their contributions are used. All funds raised are invested solely in the care of the animals at the sanctuary. This collaboration has resulted in a documentary series called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/silasoucitu.cz\/\">The Power of Compassion<\/a>&#8220;, which shows life at the sanctuary and the people who have given up their comfort for the animals. The first part of the series, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/silasoucitu.cz\/movies\/silasoucitu-tady-jste-v-bezpeci\/\">You are safe here<\/a>&#8220;, focuses on Jarikhanda and introduces viewers to the fate of the nearly 80 animals who have found a home there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new series, Forces of Compassion, has also recently been created, with one episode dedicated to <a href=\"https:\/\/silasoucitu.cz\/movies\/azyly-na-hajence\/\">Jarikhanda&#8217;s outlying unit &#8211; Babette&#8217;s Grove<\/a>. This episode features both Vendy (from Zl\u00edn and Prague) and Hanka from the association <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zivotbezkrutosti.cz\/\">Life Without Cruelty<\/a>. Jarikhanda is one of the first farm animal shelters in the Czech Republic where cows, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, cats and dogs have found a home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allowing animals to survive life without being exploited for production. No animal products are consumed or produced on the farm. The milk is left for the chicks and the eggs for the hens.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Live in accordance with ecological principles. The farm aims to leave the smallest possible footprint on the planet. They strive to live locally and waste-free.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To run a permaculture farm whose crops they share with the animals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Raise awareness of the needs of farm animals and promote compassionate treatment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide a second chance to animals rescued from factory farming or unsuitable home conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visit Jarikhanda Asylum and see for yourself<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are going to pass by Zl\u00edn, be sure <strong>to stop in B\u0159ez\u016fvk\u00e1ch. Just remember that visits are possible by prior arrangement.<\/strong><br>Finally, I would like to say that Jarikhanda is not just an animal sanctuary. It is a place where humanity, compassion and love for nature meet.
