This is the Domov pro kon\u011b south of Prague. After the first visit to the Domov pro kon\u011b in Central Bohemia in Le\u0161tina, my man and I decided to visit this sanctuary again, a <a href=\"https:\/\/faunastika.com\/index.php\/sk\/spoznajte-oazu-pre-kone-domov-pro-kone-v-stredoceskej-lestine\/\">horse shelter<\/a> which we have been financially supporting for a long time. Our second visit  surprised us with a warm welcome and the opportunity to actively participate in the care of these majestic creatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"stretnutie-s-patrciou-a-aktulna-situcia-v-azyle\">Meeting with Patricie and the Current Situation in the Horse Sanctuary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We started our visit with a conversation with Patricie Pit\u0159\u00edkov\u00e1, the founder and main caretaker of the shelter. Patricie told us that currently, <a href=\"https:\/\/faunastika.com\/index.php\/sk\/spoznajte-oazu-pre-kone-domov-pro-kone-v-stredoceskej-lestine\/\">Domov pro <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/faunastika.com\/index.php\/discover-an-oasis-for-horses-domov-pro-kone-in-lestina-central-bohemia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">k<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/faunastika.com\/index.php\/sk\/spoznajte-oazu-pre-kone-domov-pro-kone-v-stredoceskej-lestine\/\">on\u011b<\/a> takes care of 36 horses \u2013 a few less than during our last visit. Some horses have since passed away from natural causes, but new residents have also arrived who needed help and refuge. Sadly, one dog adopted from Romania also passed away. He was seriously ill. However, I am convinced that he spent the end of his life in the best possible place in his short life, in Patricie&#8217;s company and care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sanctuary does not only keep horses. There are also 3 cows, several dogs, cats, and one goat. Patricie knows every animal and can share specific information about it \u2013 where it came from, what health problems it has, and what kind of care it needs. It is clear that she approaches her work responsibly and professionally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n  <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"346\" height=\"612\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RfRJMTTlhfg\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"kmenie-kon---rados-z-malch-gestov\">Feeding the Horses \u2013 and Other Joys<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal of our visit was again to meet Patricie, talk about the situation in the horse shelter, and of course, meet the residents for whom the facility is mainly designed. We brought fresh carrots for the horses and gradually distributed them. It was at times an adrenaline-filled experience, as horses can be quite determined when they see a treat. Each horse has its own personality \u2013 some are cautious and gentle, others more eager and impatient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"starostlivos-o-srs---relaxcia-pre-koa-aj-loveka\">Care for the Coat \u2013 Relaxation for Horses and Humans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, we proceeded to groom the horses. This activity is not only a necessity in horse care but also a form of relaxation for the animals. Horses enjoy individual attention. With brushes and combs in our hands, we gently removed dirt from their coats and combed their manes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is fascinating to observe how horses react to grooming. Some stand calmly and enjoy the attention, others lean slightly to enjoy the massage even more. Although it is not the most romantic activity, it is an inseparable part of the daily routine. So I shoveled manure into the wheelbarrow. It is good to experience and see how hard Patricie and her family work every day to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for their charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"aktulne-potreby-azylu\">Current Needs of the Sanctuary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the conversation with Patricie, we learned about the current needs of the <a href=\"https:\/\/faunastika.com\/index.php\/discover-an-oasis-for-horses-domov-pro-kone-in-lestina-central-bohemia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Domov pro kon\u011b<\/a>. They currently most urgently need Alpa francovka \u2013 an alcohol-based herbal solution used to treat various health issues in horses. They are also looking for calendula healing ointments, which are effective for treating minor injuries and skin problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These products may seem like small things, but for horses in need, they can mean faster healing and relief from pain. Every contribution, financial or material, has real significance in this horse sanctuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"filozofia-starostlivosti\">Philosophy of Care<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>What impresses us most about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.domovprokone.cz\/\">Domov pro kon\u011b<\/a> is the philosophy upheld by Patricie and Pavel. Horses that come to them never leave. They are not commodities to be sold or exchanged \u2013 they are individual beings with the right to a dignified life.
